FILM / SCHOOL MADE FROM BAMBOO
Die Handwerksschule ist ein offener Campus mit mehreren Bauten. Am zentralen Zugang von Westen liegt die Mensa mit Küche und Verwaltung. Im Norden folgen aufgereiht die Schlafräume mit den Sanitäranlagen. Mittig und nach Süden geöffnet sind die Klassenzimmer und Lehrräume platziert. Durch die Anordnung der Bauten ergeben sich kleinere Innenhöfe, auch privatere Höfe für einzelne Schlafbereiche. In der Entwicklung des Projektes lag der Fokus auf robusten Details, den Materialien Naturstein und Bambus, sowie deren fachgerechtem Einsatz. Durch vielseitige Anwendungen, wurde der vorhandene Bambus bestmöglichst genutz. Der Bau wurde von Studenten und lokalen Arbeitern in enger Zusammenarbeit vor Ort umgesetzt.

The school for crafts is an open campus consisting of a number of buildings. At the central entrance one finds the schools canteen with the kitchen and the administration. Following up north are the sleeping quarters and the sanitary facilities, all aligned. Opening unto the south are the classrooms. Due to the arrangement of the blocks, a number of inner courtyards is created.Some are more private and some more public. In developing this project, the main aim was to create robust and adequate construction details, to work with natural stone and bamboo and to use these materials accordingly and up to their full potential. The construction was then carried out by students and local craftsmen, working closely together on site.
